Pesto Prosciutto Melt (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Herbs & Extras

01 - Fresh basil leaves, 4-5 pieces
02 - Pesto sauce, 2 spoonfuls
03 - A pinch of salt and a crack of black pepper

→ Cheese & Protein

04 - A handful of grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or gruyere)
05 - Mozzarella, about half a ball
06 - Three slices of prosciutto

→ Bread & Butter

07 - Two thick slices of crusty bread or sourdough
08 - Some butter for spreading

# Instructions:

01 - Turn the heat on low-medium under your pan. Butter one side of a bread slice, then put it butter-side down on your counter or board.
02 - Start stacking your goodies: grated cheese, prosciutto, sliced mozzarella, pesto, and some fresh basil leaves. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper. Place the second slice of bread on top, and butter its outer side.
03 - Put the sandwich in the warm pan. Cook each side slowly for about 5 minutes. You’ll know it's ready when the outside is golden and crunchy, and the cheese is oozy inside.

# Notes:

01 - Mixing shredded and fresh cheese gives it an amazing gooey goodness.
02 - Cooking it nice and slow is the trick to getting the perfect crunch.
03 - Use any cheese you’ve got in the fridge—it’s flexible!
