Zucchini Teriyaki (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Veggies

01 - 1 medium sweet onion, roughly diced
02 - 3 medium-sized zucchini

→ Sauce Mix

03 - 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
04 - 2 tablespoons cooking oil
05 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce

→ Spices and Toppings

06 - 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, toasted
07 - 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper
08 - 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, adjust heat to your liking

→ Extras (Optional)

09 - 1 tablespoon of butter for an extra creamy touch

# Instructions:

01 - Cut zucchini into 6 wedges from 2-inch sections. These small pieces soak up flavors easily.
02 - Heat up oil in a big skillet on medium-high until it starts to shimmer. This sets the stage for the dish.
03 - Toss your zucchini pieces and onion chunks into the hot skillet. Let them cook and soften for 2 minutes as they start to release aroma.
04 - Add soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. The mixture will bubble and coat everything with a sweet and savory glaze.
05 - Stir every so often and keep cooking for 4-5 minutes. Cook zucchini to a firmness you enjoy—crisp or soft, it’s up to you.
06 - Sprinkle over sesame seeds for a nutty crunch before serving. Stir in butter at the end if you’d like a richer finish.

# Notes:

01 - Serve alongside grilled fish, chicken, or even some plain steamed rice.
02 - Make it a full meal by tossing in shrimp, chicken, or tofu during cooking.
