French Toast Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
02 - 1 pound of Italian or sourdough bread
03 - 8 large eggs
04 - 3 cups of half-and-half
05 - 3/4 cup of light brown sugar
06 - 1 tablespoon of vanilla
07 - 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
08 - 3/4 teaspoon of kosher salt
09 - 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
10 - 2 ounces of chopped nuts
11 - 1/4 cup of regular flour
12 - Maple syrup for drizzling
13 - Berries, fresh, for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick spray.
02 - Rip the bread into smaller chunks and toss them into the pan.
03 - Stir eggs, half-and-half, brown sugar, salt, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth and creamy.
04 - Pour the egg mixture over the bread, push it down gently, cover it up, and stick it in the fridge overnight.
05 - Combine the nuts, brown sugar, spices, flour, and butter until it forms crumbs.
06 - Spread the crumb topping over everything, then bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes until it’s golden brown.

# Notes:

01 - Prep can be done up to a day ahead.
02 - Needs at least an hour to soak properly.
03 - You can swap the bread or nuts to switch it up.
