05 - 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
06 - 1 and 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1 and 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
09 - 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
10 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
11 - 3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder

→ Frosting

12 - 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
13 - 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
14 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
15 - 1/2 cup (45g) unsweetened cocoa powder
16 - 3 and 1/2 cups (440g) powdered sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat two 9-inch round pans with a light layer of grease and a dusting of flour.
02 - In a big bowl, stir together baking powder, flour, sugar, salt, cocoa powder, and baking soda until well blended.
03 - Pour eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla into the dry ingredients. Blend until smooth. Slowly stir in boiling water—it’ll be runny.
04 - Split the mix between the pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer poked in the middle comes out dry.
05 - After baking, let the cakes rest in the pans for about 10 minutes. Move them to cooling racks until fully cool.
06 - Whip up the butter until it’s nice and creamy. Gradually add cocoa and powdered sugar. Alternate adding milk and vanilla while beating until fluffy.
07 - Spread frosting over the first layer. Place the second layer on top and cover everything with frosting. Slice and enjoy.
