In a big bowl, mix up the coconut, condensed milk, and powdered sugar.

Roll the mixture into small 1-inch balls. Use a pan covered with wax paper and chill 'em until solid.

Microwave chocolate chips and shortening, stirring now and then, until it’s nice and smooth.

Coat the chilled balls in the melted chocolate. Let any extra chocolate drip off, then set them on wax paper.
