Salisbury Steak Brown Gravy (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Patties

01 - 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
02 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
03 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
05 - 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
06 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
07 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
09 - 1 large egg
10 - 2 tablespoons ketchup

→ Gravy

11 - Salt and black pepper to taste
12 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
13 - 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
14 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
15 - 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
16 - 2 cups beef broth
17 - Fresh parsley for garnish
18 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
19 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

# Instructions:

01 - Combine the beef, egg, breadcrumbs, and spices gently. Shape into 4 oval shapes.
02 - Cook patties for 3-4 minutes on both sides until they’re nicely browned. Set them aside.
03 - Melt butter in a pan. Let the onions cook for 8-10 minutes until they're golden.
04 - Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir. Slowly pour in broth while whisking, then season.
05 - Put the patties back in the gravy. Cover and let them simmer for about 10-12 minutes or until they reach 160°F.

01 - Pair with mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice for a complete meal.
02 - Don’t overwork the beef mixture to keep patties juicy.
