Crank your oven to 350°F (175°C) and let it heat up well.

Take off the wrapper from your brie. If it came in a wooden box, you can reuse the box for baking (it looks nice too). Otherwise, place it in a small dish fit for the oven.

Lightly score the surface of the brie with a knife, making an X or grid-like pattern. This helps the preserves seep in nicely as it bakes.

Spread the fig preserves over your brie. Add the nuts, thyme, or honey on top if you're using them.

Bake for about 15-20 minutes. It's done when the cheese feels soft and gooey if you press it gently.
