Air Fryer Onion (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Blooming Onion

01 - 1 big Vidalia onion, peeled
02 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
03 - 1 teaspoon paprika
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon salt
06 - ½ teaspoon ground pepper
07 - 1 cup regular flour
08 - 2 eggs, large
09 - 1 tablespoon hot sauce of your choice
10 - ½ cup fresh buttermilk
11 - A few sprays of olive oil

→ Yum Yum Sauce

12 - ½ cup good-quality mayo
13 - 1 tablespoon melted butter
14 - ¼ cup ketchup
15 - 1 tablespoon mirin (or splash of water)
16 - ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
17 - ¼ teaspoon onion powder

# Instructions:

01 - Carefully slice 8-12 sections at the top but leave the root intact. Gently pull each section apart to create a flower shape.
02 - Dip onion slices into your seasoned flour, then into the egg mixture. Repeat by coating with another layer of flour.
03 - Pop the onion into the air fryer at 375°F for 12-15 minutes, spraying it lightly with oil now and then.
04 - Whisk all sauce ingredients together until they're smooth and creamy. Dip your warm onion in and enjoy!

# Notes:

01 - Place it in ice water to help the petals spread out.
02 - Make sure it’s completely dry before breading.
